Experience Hands-Free Highway Driving with Ford BlueCruise

Since 2021, Ford has offered the Ford BlueCruise on select models, making hands-free driving a possibility. Since then, improvements have been made, and it has been expanded to be offered on more models. What Is Ford BlueCruise? 

Ford BlueCruise is a driver assistance feature that’s designed to make driving less stressful and more enjoyable. It allows for hands-free driving so that the driver can relax and get ready for their next stop. “Blue Zones” are what Ford calls the roads around the country that BlueCruise is available on. This includes 130,000 miles of divided highways and 97% of controlled access highways. Whether it’s a daily commute or a long road trip, Ford aims to have your path covered. 

How Does Ford BlueCruise Work? 

When your vehicle enters into a “Blue Zone,” you will see a message on the digital cluster in front of you that BlueCruise is available to be enabled. All you do is press the Adaptive Cruise Control button on your steering wheel and your BlueCruise is activated. Now, your vehicle will handle steering, lane centering, speed adjustments, and even switching lanes. It will also recognize when vehicles in the lanes beside you are veering into your lane, and it will shift accordingly. Remember that at any time, you can put your hands back on the wheel and take over. This is also a driver facing camera to monitor your eye gaze and head position, which ensures you’re still paying attention.

Pricing of Ford BlueCruise 

If you’re interested in the BlueCruise feature, you can add it onto your vehicle order, or at the dealership during your final purchase. For the 2025 model year, it is $495 per year, or a one-time of purchase of $2,495 with a minimum of 7 years of service. On the 2024 model year, it is $700 per year, $2,100 for 3 years, or $2,495 for 7 years. 

If you want to try the feature out first before investing, you can get a 90-day complimentary trial on all eligible 2024 and 2025 vehicles. After this period, you have the option to purchase BlueCruise annually or monthly. The monthly rate of $49.99, while the annual rate is $495. 

The Ford BlueCruise feature is a great option for drivers that spend a lot of time behind the wheel and are looking for a more automated, enjoyable driving experience.
