How to Start the All-Electric Jeep Wagoneer S

The Jeep brand has offered a hybrid option (the 4xe) on the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee nameplate for years. However, there has never been a fully electrified option until now. The Jeep Wagoneer S is the brand’s introduction to the EV market, and it makes a statement with its bold exterior and advanced interior and features. It’s something that you need to sit in and drive to fully experience, so let’s talk about the basics: how to start it!

How to Start the Jeep Wagoneer S
It seems like every vehicle has a different way to start it up. Some have push to starts up on the dash, some are down by the shifter, and some still have a physical key to turn. With EVs, it can get even more complicated. Most electric vehicles only require you to step on the brake for the vehicle to turn on, and you’d have to look to see if the screen is activated to know if the vehicle is on and ready to drive.
With the Jeep Wagoneer S, they kept the traditional push-to-start that we’re used to seeing nowadays on regular gas vehicles, although it looks a bit different. In front of the gear shifter (which is a dial, not a traditional gear shifter), there is a rectangular button with a power icon on it. Press on the brake and press the button. Your vehicle is started! You’ll know because the screens will light up and the vehicle will make a “dinging” sound for a few beats.
