What’s Not Covered Under the FCA US LLC Limited Warranty

While the new 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty offers impressive protection, there are still a few important exclusions to keep in mind.

Aftermarket Modifications: Using non-FCA or non-Mopar parts, accessories, or additives won’t automatically void your warranty – but any damage caused by them isn’t covered. This includes performance or racing parts, rustproofing treatments, or vehicle conversions that alter your Ram’s original design.

Environmental and Physical Damage: Damage from outside factors like hail, floods, road debris, tree sap, or bird droppings are not covered under warranty. The same applies to chips, cracks, or scratches caused by impacts or collisions.

Maintenance and Wear Items:Routine maintenance and normal wear-and-tear items such as oil changes, filters, wiper blades, brake pads, spark plugs, and fluids are the owner’s responsibility. Using contaminated or incorrect fluids or neglecting maintenance can also void coverage for related repairs.

Racing and Misuse:Damage that results from racing, overloading, abuse, or neglect is not covered. FCA US also excludes coverage for issues caused by tampering with emissions systems or using unapproved fluids and parts.

Corrosion:Surface rust or corrosion from environmental exposure (like salt or industrial fallout) is not covered, nor is corrosion caused by vehicle alterations or contact with harsh chemicals.

Total Loss or Salvage Vehicles: Vehicles declared a total loss, rebuilt from salvage, or carrying a salvage/junk/rebuilt title are not eligible for warranty coverage.
