Drive Modes on the Silverado EV
With winter just around the corner in Minnesota, customizable driver modes can make all the difference in how your vehicle handles the colder months. Stop by Jeff Belzer’s Chevrolet in Lakeville and tailor your Silverado EV to match your winter driving needs!

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV takes last year’s all-electric pickup to another level with several changes, including updates to the Driver Mode Control.
The way you select drive modes can vary based on the specific Silverado EV model. If your vehicle includes physical controls, you might find a dial to the left of the steering wheel, a knob near the center console armrest, or a button (or set of) on the instrument panel.
Let’s take a look at the different modes you may see in your Chevrolet Silverado EV:
Normal Mode
Normal Mode is built for everyday use, whether you’re driving around town or cruising on the highway. It delivers balanced acceleration and ride tuning ideal for daily driving needs.
Sport Mode
Ideal for highway driving and offers a performance feel. It’s function sharpens throttle response and shift patterns.
Off Road Mode
Off Road Made provides different modifying settings for off-road conditions such as gravel, sand, and mud. Some settings include:
- Throttle response
- Steering
- Suspension
- Traction control systems
Tow Haul Mode
Designed to handle heavy loads, the Tow Haul Mode holds gears longer and provides increased torque. This helps improve stability and performance when towing a trailer or carrying cargo, while also reducing unnecessary gear shifting.
Terrain
Off-Road Mode is tailored for low-speed, off-road conditions. It adjusts shift mapping and traction control, while also applying automatic braking to enhance performance and control on uneven or rugged terrain.
“My Mode”
My Mode is a customizable setting that allows you to adjust and fine-tune the vehicle’s behavior. With this setting, you are able to personalize settings for:
- Steering
- Braking
- Acceleration Feel and Responsiveness
- Motor Sound in the Center Display
