Ford F-150’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist

Backing up a trailer can be one of the most challenging parts of towing, but the Ford F-150’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist is designed to make it easier, more controlled, and far less stressful. This advanced system uses a center-console control knob, your steering system, and multiple cameras to help guide your trailer exactly where you want it while reversing.

Instead of turning the steering wheel, you simply turn the knob in the direction you want the trailer to go. The system automatically manages the steering while you focus on braking, accelerating, and keeping an eye on your surroundings. On-screen guidance and camera views help take the guesswork out of tight spaces and tricky angles.

Trailer Type

The Pro Trailer Backup Assist system only works with conventional trailers, specifically that have a hitch point to the center of the axle or axles with a measurement of 6-33ft.

Non-Conventional trailer types include fifth wheel and gooseneck type trailers.

• Trailer Reverse Guidance Camera: See the camera view on the side where the trailer is moving, or both sides when the trailer is behind you.

How to Tutorial with Allye

Setup is simple through the touchscreen – just hitch your trailer, park on a level surface, align the vehicle and trailer, and add your trailer profile. Once activated, the system detects the trailer and guides you step-by-step through the process.
